Mia Boe is a Brisbane-born artist whose practice seeks to record and recover Indigenous histories. Her work is informed by her matrilineal family, Badtjala, from K'Gari (Fraser Island). She says; 'This practice of recovery is urgent in contemporary Australia: the patient work of tracing historical trauma and violence can open new perspectives on the reasons for Aboriginal Australians' present suffering.' She recently completed an 'at home' residency with the Museum of Brisbane.
