Maryos Syawish is a Chaldean Iraqi artist based in Melbourne. Drawing on his heritage, self taught graphic design techniques and graffiti influences, his style has evolved to include a range of mediums. His work uses the language of abstraction to explore his cultural heritage through painting and sculptural outcomes. Alongside his art practice, Maryos is known for for his sonic output as Sleep D, and his record label Butter Sessions.
