Tully Moore’s project 'Smoko Studio' is an ongoing exploration of classic two-ingredient combinations. This iteration is inspired by the iconic French dish, Duck à l'Orange - a dish he remembers first hearing about on television as a child.
For an entire year, Tully developed this series during his daily ‘smoko break’ while working at a fruit and vegetable distributor. Influenced by the packaging he comes across in this job, Tully’s practice is steeped in the visual language of packaging and the commercial arts.
This exhibition invites viewers to engage in the delightful and absurd undertaking of exploring the combination of ducks and oranges for a whole year. The resulting works offer a playful reflection on the information overload we face in daily life, where clashing imagery and messages collide in our physical and digital environments.
